‘So what do you eat as a vegan?’

This question pops up almost every time when I talk to someone about my vegan eating habits. And after the concerns people get about my sources of protein and nutrients without meat, fish, poultry, eggs and milk, the next comment is often a sad face because I am not 'allowed' to treat myself desserts, pies, viennoiseries or even cookies. Well of course I can! And as a bonus, these treats often turn into healthy, nutritious and tasty discoveries.

For me one of the best examples is banana bread. I made the discovery of this delight during my studies in London, and since then I don't know how I ever lived without it! Ok, now this might be a bit of an exaggeration, but if bread made from banana is something new for you then you should definitely not hesitate to give it a go...
